Meet Nigeria’s First Female Ambassador To The United States of America


 Dr. Uzoma Emenike has been approved by President, Muhammadu Buhari  as Nigeria's ambassador to the United States.

Dr. Uzoma Emenike is the first female Nigerian ambassador to the United States of America according to Office of the Chief Protocol, US Department of State. 

Dr. Uzoma Emenike hails from Abia State and she is 55 years old.

Dr Emenike is the current Ambassador to Ireland, with concurrent accreditation to Iceland.

In 2016 President Mohammed Buhari sent her name, alongside 45 others, to the Senate for confirmation as non-career ambassadors. 
She holds two bachelor’s degrees, two master’s degrees, and a doctorate from University of Lagos and University of Reading, UK.

Dr Emenike is married to Ikechi Emenike and they have four children.
